Painting autos is a funny and interesting procedure to do. If you have more than one vehicle, then painting autos becomes more interesting. Painting autos is not at difficult. In fact, it is so easy that even kids may use their skills and have fun while painting autos.
You Need To Have:
1. A compressor
2. Paint
3. Spray gun
4. Sandpaper
5. Car port
6. Paint booth
You may perform the painting procedure of a vehicle in a garage, a paint booth or on the driveway as per your convenience.
Fundamentals Of Painting Autos:
1. The first thing that you need to do before you start to paint the vehicle is washing the vehicle properly with soap water. This helps in getting rid of bird droppings, road salts and other things, which are not visible. The surface of the vehicle has to be clean before you start painting your vehicle.
2. Use grease, wax remover along with paper towels to get rid of the dust from your auto. Do not use cloth, as it is not fireproof. House paint or liquid charcoal helps in getting rid of crayon marks, because crayons are made of wax.
3. After you get rid of grease and wax, you may scrub the vehicle with sandpaper, if you want to give it a dull look.
4. Remove the frame of the vehicle. This step is not very important.
5. The vehicle has to be dry before you start painting. Keep the painting floor dry. In case of humidity, the paint may stick to the spray gun before it touches the vehicle, so be careful while painting autos. Hence, keep the place and the vehicle dry or else you will have lots of dirt on your vehicle, by the time the painting is done.
6. After you finish painting on one side, put a plastic windscreen on it. This prevents dust from entering the paint on the vehicle. The plastic sheet will also help to keep away the wind. It is always a good idea to paint one side first and then move on to paint the other side. Paint the automobile in an open space other than painting it on a driveway, as it has flies and mites that may spoil the painting.
7. Remember to remove or cover the parts of the vehicle you do not wish to paint. This part is very unexciting. However, the result depends completely on how you manage all these processes.
8. Use car paints that contain urethane, as they dry instantly. Such paints are available at premium or selective auto paint stores.
9. After the application of primer, minimally apply a thin coat of black enamel. It works best, if you spray the enamel with the help of a can.
10. Once black enamel dries off, remove it, apply base color, and cover the parts that require painting. Leave it for 15 minutes. Wait for sometime, while painting between two color coats. Finally, urethane paint is very good, as it sticks to the vehicle quickly.

There is a big market out there and a thousand and one ways to reach out to them. But where does one start? Short of coming out with an expensive billboard that might not give you the immediate results, what other options are there?

One of the easiest ways to build your consumer base is to have your brand seen in public places and transportation such as buses, trains, and cabs is through inexpensive custom auto accessories like bumper stickers and decals. Many guerilla marketers and small independent brands working with limited budgets have found success with these cheap promotional items, which have become trustworthy marketing materials. Another way to reach out to an audience that is always on the move is through custom auto accessories like shades, door signs, license plate holders, and antenna balls. Diminutive they may be, but these custom auto accessories are the kind of objects that will get your brand seen not just by your recipients but every commuter they pass.

It also helps to get your logo in the hands of the people you want to reach. Some pocket-friendly custom auto accessories like plastic and metal key chains are inexpensive ways to be seen up close. Unlike other custom auto accessories like shades, door signs, stickers, and decals that offer fleeting images, getting your logo in the line of vision of your market will help you build stronger brand recall. For a more specific audience like auto enthusiasts, custom auto accessories like flashlights, toolkits and safety products are good ways to be around. Car dealers, gasoline stations, and automotive repair shops can promote their services through custom auto accessories like promotional tire pressures, utility kits, Swiss army knives, air fresheners, and car care sets.

For other practical giveaways that will people will use over and over, travel mugs and CD holders are useful gifts that will give you much logo exposure. These are more expensive than most auto accessories, and are highly recommended corporate gifts for regular clients.

So keep your promotion on high speed. There’s a wide range of auto accessories you can add your logo to.

While it might initially seem surprising, right now it is extremely difficult to open certain cars. Robert Campbell, a locksmith who owns Advantage Locksmith in New York City, says high-end foreign cars have advanced relocking devices. For example, he says that on certain BMWs, once you get car open with tools, the relocker will go off almost immediately and the car will lock again. So instead, you either have to reach in really quickly or have an assistant with you whom you instruct that once the lock is popped, you have reach here and open it immediately.Campbell says he can’t say his name, but he opened a Mercedes limousine for a huge hip-hop star. After his company successfully opened the car, the company that leased car said they had called a couple of locksmiths and none of them were willing to even touch this type of car because they knew how advanced it was and knew they could not do it. It happened to be that his locksmith knew the trick and used the right tools. So at 2 a.m., he  got that Mercedes limo open for that rap star. The UntouchablesCertain Mercedes and BMWs Campbell doesn’t touch. There are cars where the battery dies and the lock has deadlocking feature. In those circumstances, the customer is better off going to BMW dealer with his VIN number and trying to get key made or getting a boost and getting the battery functional again. Today, he says he can open almost any car. He stays away from a couple of cars but there are still methods to gain access to them, whether by opening the trunk lock, or by trying to open the passenger door or rear door instead of driver door. The difficulty on doors varies depending on how you are trying to open it. One thing that he does not do do is drill open locks in order to open cars. He says if you were to drill out the door lock of a BMW or Mercedes, the client will spend at least $1,000 at the dealer to get that advanced lock replaced. Under those circumstances, it is actually much better for a client to break a window and spend a couple of hundred dollars to get the window replaced than to spend over $1,000 to replace a high-end lock. It gets harder as the years go on, but we are still able to open about 98% of the cars on the road.

A report from the Federal Reserve indicates that automotive output rose 10% in July, pushing industrial production levels up a full percentage point.  Industrial production had fallen due to drops in manufacturing, but it has since expanded and increased its output by over a percent in July.

Manufacturing is the biggest factor when it comes to industrial production output.  This year’s hot summer is blamed for manufacturers slowing down, with the demand for electricity at a peak for the year.  Consumer demand and spending have also been low with many state’s unemployment levels hitting new levels in July.

Many plants shut down during the summer months, but this year General Motors decided to keep a portion of their plants running.  They’ve had a surge in SUV manufacturing since January and are pushing to keep up with the current demand after last year’s cut backs.

The demand for new vehicles has been steadily on the rise, so many companies are trying to play catch up with fewer workers and less factories up and running.

“Right now, what’s going on is everyone is really stretching their plants – and hopefully not to the breaking point,” said David Cole, chairman of the Center for Automotive Research in Ann Arbor, Mich.  ”I don’t think they will.  But until manufacturers get more comfortable with the direction of the economy, they won’t add capacity.”

The auto market is still expected to continue to thrive, although it may hit a few rough patches.  Manufacturers are pushing overtime on the workers through at least Labor Day and some fear that they’ll wear out.  However, most are thankful to be working and are enjoying the extra income.  Plus, with the modernization of assembly plants, it’s not as hard as it used to be to put out a quality product.  In fact, according to a J.D. Power survey, domestic automakers had fewer flaws in production than imports for the first time in 24 years.

Zhao Hang, director of the China Automotive Technology & Research Center, said “The rising Gross Domestic Product (GDP) growth rate and the increasing purchasing power of consumers will lay a solid foundation for the development of the auto industry.  With the accelerating process of urbanization, the rapid development of the second- and third-tier markets will also drive the growth of the auto market.

Although we’ve been in a deep depression, American companies are starting to buy manufactured goods to stay afloat.  Exports have been doing better since the American dollar has weakened and attracted more buyers from overseas.  Ocean freight space is slowly becoming more available as the ocean shipping industry also recovers.  Economists still expect a wavering, unpredictable, and slow recovery, but the manufacturing sector with the automotive industry driving it seems to be on a fairly steady incline.

Whether it is a rouge baseball, golf ball size hail, or you were one of the five million crashes occurring in the United States (according to statistics from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration), it is a given that most people will visit an auto body shop at some point in their lives.

But while choosing a doctor for your runny nose might be simple, how do you choose the right auto body shop that will not only fix but also protect the value on the four-wheeled love of your life.

After an accident or damage has occurred, sometimes the insurance claims representative will suggest specific auto body shops. But remember, these are auto body shops the insurance company typically works with and you deserve the final say on who repairs the vehicle you have invested time and money into.

Looking for an auto body shop can be a hard process. But talking to friends, relatives, business associates, and even the dealer where you purchased the vehicle can make this process easier.

Another step is to check out auto body shops online. Look for online reviews about the body shop to see what strangers or other businesses have said. These reviews may ease the burden on your mind and narrow down your choices. Often, if the auto body shop has a website, they will also list pictures and information on their work quality.

Try to stick with companies that have an established business and proof of their work. If they have proof they have fixed hail damage, scratches caused by keys or doors, scuffs or paint chipping, they will most likely be able to do it again.

The next step is to make an appointment and take your vehicle to the auto body shop for an estimate. With this visit, get a feel for how they do business, especially their attention to detail. There are some important key questions you can ask to determine if you want them repair your damaged vehicle.

- What is your experience? – How long have your been repairing vehicles? – Do you have examples of prior work? – Do you have any customers I can call about your work? – Have you had any complaints with the Better Business Bureau or your county’s consumer affairs office? – Do you have a guarantee on your work? – And, do you have any advanced techniques?

As far as advanced techniques, there are some alternative auto body shops that have selected a “greener” restoration process that includes paintless dent removal or PDR. Auto body shops offering paintless dent removal have the advanced tools that:

- Saves the environment by avoiding painting a large section – Retains the resale of your vehicle by minimizing or eliminating body filler – Reduces the time to repair

These shops provide way and means to fix a wide variety of damage without sanding or abrasive methods including:

- Hail damage – Small dents – Scratches – Creases – Scuffs

When your vehicle can receive the care and attention to repair needed without replacing or even disturbing the clear coat or manufactures paint job, you will get your money’s worth in the repair and resale value.

When you pick up your car following the repair, thoroughly check it from top to bottom to ensure the work was completed as promised. Check everything out to make sure it looks, feels, and works the way it was designed.

Repairs and wrecks can be a stressful time on any vehicle owner. But with the right repair shop, you and your vehicle can be restored to driving shape in a timely fashion with outstanding results.
